A Travellerspoint blog

Motorcycle gang

I haven't been intentionally ignoring everyone, so I apologize that it's been so long since I've left before my first post. I tried 3 times in Bangkok to upload some photos but it crashed each time. So this time just a quick post and then when I get to another computer I'll try and upload some photos.

Bangkok was brilliantly hectic as always. We saw a few main sights and then headed to a tiny town called Nang Rong. We are staying at a little guest house called the P. California which has been great. Khun Wicha the owner has been a very generous host and has a wealth of knowledge about the area. We rented motorbikes and spent the last 2 days touring around, checking out some ancient ruins atop extinct volcanoes. Even just riding through the countryside has been beautiful. Open rice fields and the quiet local life. We have not seen any other tourists and very little English is spoken. Just the way I like it. =)

It was Alysons first time on a scooter and she did great. Even though I took a wrong turn to Phanom Rung and went up the steepest way.

Wow what a great adventure and education by seeing all the cultural sights..I studied cultural anthropology and loved it..great opportunity..continued safe travels..write lots of good stuff..check out the types of family structures and patterns and tribes..would be great to hear of it..I read a little about it in the book Alyson gave me..there is a canoe trip that goes thru some natural park areas..also if you need anything looked up computerwise, let us know.
