This island life

sunny 88 °F

Hey everyone, Yes we are still alive. We have been on Koh Tao for the last week or so. A small little island with loads of beautiful beaches. Alyson did her Open Water scuba diving course and then I joined her and we did the Advanced Open Water course together. It's easy living here and easy to get sucked into. We've enjoyed some amazing sunsets, met some wonderful friends, ate a ton of fresh food right on the beach, watched fire twirlers etc. The weather has been great all in all. The only day we've really had rain was the day we came in on ther ferry. Other than that beautiful. We have some photos, but I need to recharge my battery on my camera to upload them. We went to do a bit of bouldering yesterday, but it was quite overgrown in the jungle with some scary spiders and things. We may try again today there are some boulders right on the beach when the tide goes out. Closer to a cold beer that way too. Not too much else to talk about as our days have been more relaxing than exciting, other than the diving. As always, hope everyone is well. We will try and upload some photos soon.

The photos I promised

I think I figured this out. The internet here is painfully slow, so this is all I could do for now. We are back in Bangkok for a few days and then heading to the beach and sun tomorrow. Hope everyone is well. Enjoy the pics.IMG_1700.jpg

Sorry for the tilted photos, haven't figured out how to rotate them yet. Till next time

Motorcycle gang

I haven't been intentionally ignoring everyone, so I apologize that it's been so long since I've left before my first post. I tried 3 times in Bangkok to upload some photos but it crashed each time. So this time just a quick post and then when I get to another computer I'll try and upload some photos.

Bangkok was brilliantly hectic as always. We saw a few main sights and then headed to a tiny town called Nang Rong. We are staying at a little guest house called the P. California which has been great. Khun Wicha the owner has been a very generous host and has a wealth of knowledge about the area. We rented motorbikes and spent the last 2 days touring around, checking out some ancient ruins atop extinct volcanoes. Even just riding through the countryside has been beautiful. Open rice fields and the quiet local life. We have not seen any other tourists and very little English is spoken. Just the way I like it. =)

It was Alysons first time on a scooter and she did great. Even though I took a wrong turn to Phanom Rung and went up the steepest way.

View 2009 SE Asia on tetonshawn's travel map.

Bear with us as we try to figure out how this thing works. Ideally what we're after here is a very fun, laid back look at our travels through South East Asia. The goal is to update it as often as is fun, upload a bunch of photos and share some of our adventures. There should be an option on the page to subscribe to the blog so you can be emailed when we update it. Also you should be able to comment to our posts/photos and read others comments. There is a map feature as well that will show you where we are and have been...if I can figure out how to pop it on here. Hopefully it provides a little enjoyment to everyone. Only 4 more days till lift off. Don't forget to bring a towel!
